West Ham United Manager Records

West Ham United has had 17 permanent managers in its history, all with varying success.

The club's first permanent manager was Syd King, who still holds the record for the longest spell in charge - 30 years between, 1902 and 1932. The manager with the shortest managerial spell is Lou Macari, who lasted just six months between August 1989 and February 1990.

West Ham's first non-English manager was also Macari, who is Scottish. Italian Gianfranco Zola became West Ham's first non-UK manager when he was appointed September, 2008. The Hammers' first non-European manager was Chilean Manuel Pellegrini, who managed the club between 2018 and 2019.
